Written by Ian Fleming, this is another novel based on secret agent 007 James Bond involved in a drug trafficking group.
The novel begins with 007 receiving training to identify good diamonds from the bad, which the charming agent does not pay much attention to. But anyhow, he proceeds to contact the members from the trafficking group posing with a stolen identity of Peter Franks.
His first contact becomes a sexy lady Tiffany Case, whom he is instantly attracted to, but she stays aloof. Tiffany is part of the group by the Spangled Mob operated by brothers Jack and Serrafimo Spang with 'torpedoes Wint and Kidd.
The operation begins in South African mines, where miners provide a dentist with a raw diamond in their mouths, for money. And these are transported to London to Case, and then a hire help than transports the precious to New York City.
Bond does this through golf balls and some help from his old friend Felix Leiter. Leiter is involved in investigation of horse race fixing and a limping horse. They believe and find that the trouble in both cases is done by the same person.
After Bond completes his case, he is paid through horse bets, which never happens and he also witnesses the wrath of his 'employer'. And then arrangements are done for his payment through betting. After getting his money, Bond ventures in dangerous waters and is captured by Spang.
How he escapes with Tiffany and breaks down the operation is interesting to read.
A steadily engrossing read.

hey there...GREAT POST!!! I love Ian Fleming books, and am a huge fan of the 007 films as well. I recently did a post with my "favorite bond villains" (march 17th)
stop by and give me your thoughts on the list!
