The varieties of scientific experience: a personal view of search for God

Carl Sagan is the author of this book which strives to explain science and religion with the help of each other - a common topic of debate. But for the last few years, people have been taking sides and throwing off the other half, which makes their experience incomplete in whichever side they choose - such is the argument of the author. He explains many examples and instances of how there is a supernatural power that must have arranged things the way they were to lead to the things the way they are. For example some chemical reactions must have happened to make sure that the atmosphere was 75% Nitrogen, 21% Oxygen and so on and he claims that there is someone who did that. One of the arguments that he spoke of was the possibility of extraterrestrial beings, who might be much more advanced than us. So advanced that we still haven't been able to detect them but they probably know that we exist. It was an interesting argument. He goes on further to give more examples of why he believes in what he believes. An interesting book to read on, but could possibly become a bit of a drag towards the second half of the book.
