Part 4 of the books written by J.K. Rowling and starring Daniel Radcliff, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, with the rest of the cast.
The movie begins with introduction of Lord Voldemort and his followers, waiting on him. This translates into an uncomfortable dream for Potter, who is now living at The Burrow. They are planning to go to the world cup of Quidditch.
At the game, the death eaters bring much destruction and they return to their school.
This is also the year of the Triwizard championship. Hogwarts is joined by Beaxbaton ladies and Durmstrang men. Hogwarts gets Alastor "Mad Eye" Moody as their teacher for DADA.
After the selection of the 3 champions from each school, Harry Potter's name unexpectedly pops out of the Goblet of Fire. Although everyone is enraged and shocked, Potter participates in the championship.
He and Ron have a fallout, as Ron thinks that Potter wants more fame. Yet, he 'drops' clues about Potter's first task, that is incomprehensible. The first task is obtaining a golden egg guarded by fierce dragons. After this madness, Ron and Harry reconcile.
All the schools come together for the Yule ball. Here come the first traces of jealousy between Ron and Hermione showing there could be more between them than just friendship.
The second task requires the champions to rescue their dearest from under the sea. Harry comes second in this task. Finally, the task is to get the cup from the maze, that has many obstructions and challenges. After some craziness in the maze, Cedric Diggory and Harry are the ones left to take the cup. They take it together and it turns out to be a portkey, taking both of them to a graveyard that Harry is frequently disturbed about.
Seconds later Wormtail comes with a bundle in his hand and after some spells and potion stirring, Lord Voldemort returns alive. After a scary duel, Harry returns to his school grounds. Everyone is shocked at this outcome.
To comfort Harry, Moody takes him to his room and a question he asks, alerts Harry. As Moody tries to kill him, Dumbledore, McGonagall and Snape come in save Potter. The truth turns out that Moody is actually Batermius Crouch Junior - a death eater with polyjuice potion. The real Moody is captured and hidden.
Finally the year ends and everyone returns with promises and hopes to meet again.
Great special effects and one of my favourites being the chase by the dragon on the broomstick. Rowling probably has created one of the best stories of the age, that keeps the youth, children and adults alike glued to their books and movies. Definitely a good movie to watch.
