Pride and Prejudice

I just realised, while going through this blog that I had never actually written my thoughts about one of my favourite books - which was highly ironical.
This is a pretty famous book remade into so many movies and theatrical versions, that it would be just another drone to recount the plot in the book. But still, to do justice, here goes.
Elizabeth Bennet, the heroine of the novel, is second of the 5 Bennet sisters. Coming from a family that had a weak income, Mrs. Bennet was always on a flutter for eligible bachelors in their neighbourhood of Hertfordshire. So with the arrival of a rich businessman, Mr. Charles Bingley, Mrs. Bennet hopes the marriage for Jane, the eldest and the most beautiful of her girls. But Mr. Darcy, the hero (that's just the spoiler for the ending), stands in the way for reasons known only to him. After much heartbreak, misunderstandings, fondness and then yearnings, Elizabeth and Darcy unite.
Although the story has been pulled taut with its different adaptations and other similar storylines, this original still remains my favorite and most romantic way of falling in love. A great book for hopeless romantics.
