Ice Age 2 : meltdown

The Ice Age cast unites once more to churn out this animated flick. The movie follows the story after the winter passes and the ice is melting once again to reveal land. It is really interesting to note the challenges that the animal kingdom faces with nature's cycles, but they certainly cope with it much better than humans do.
Now that the threesome are thick friends, there is certainly a drop in the hints of sarcam and teasing, but comedy comes in the form of a female mammoth, voiced by Queen Latifah, who thinks she is a possum. And of course Manny is expected to fall in love with her cause he thinks he is the last of the mammoths and they are a dying species.
Even though the situation created was funny, the humour wasn't and it felt a little dry compared to the previous movie, Ice Age. The thing that really got on my nerves was Scrat. I thought that was the dumbest character in the movie although it is the initiator for much of the trouble. Yet showing that character almost every other scene was too much to bear. An OK movie to watch one time, but it wasn't as good as the first one.
