The White Feather

I didn't know what to classify this book under - it is definitely close to classic but I don't think it is considered so, yet I could not put it under fiction. I guess it is just a 'Book'.
Going to the point, The White Feather is by P.G. Wodehouse about the life of school-going boy. This boy, Sheen, is shy, intelligent and athletic. A twist of events, with some waggering tongues puts him in a bad light at his school. But with planning, perseverance and practice, he ends up representing his school in an interschool boxing competition and contributes to, probably, the only medal that his school bags that sports season. So instead of being punished by his school, he is able to stand up to them and look at them in the eye.
The storyline, if you look at it, is excessively simple, yet the talent of the storyteller is captivating and enriching. Intricately woven with his thoughts and nostalgia of life in a boarding school, Wodehouse kept me with the flow of the book.
After reading Austen's writings, Wodehouse has been next in my order of favourites.
