The Princess Diaries

Anne Hathaway is the main character in this makeover movie.
An 'invisible' girl, Mia, frequently made fun of, finds out that she is the princess of the country of Genovia. She finds a 'lost' royal grandmother. She finds out that her mother had been hiding the truth from her for a long time. She goes through a makeover since she has to be presented to the press. Her world turns upside down at school, when everyone finds out that she is a princess. The hottest boy in school asks her out to a beach party. Mia forgets her friend's invitation to her TV programme, postpones her friend's brother's invitation to his music rehearsal to go to the beach party. The beach party turns out to be a nightmare. She decides against being the princess thinking she is not fit for it.
Her grandmother provides her late father's gift to her 16th birthday, which contains an inspiring letter. The letter changes her mind and she decides to be the princess. After some minor obstacles, she makes a speech at the party.
The makeover was interesting to follow and it had the typical jealousies and high school popular girls and nerds. A good movie to watch for some soft humour.
